Atlanta Pest Guide

About Atlanta Pest Guide

Atlanta Pest Guide is a free, independent pest control guide and referral service for metro Atlanta that explains costs, Georgia licensing and termite paperwork, then connects homeowners and businesses with independent local pest control companies.

What Atlanta Pest Guide does

General Pest Control

Ants, roaches, spiders, fleas and other household pests: quarterly plans or one-time visits from independent Atlanta-area companies, plus the Georgia license to check first.

Termite Control & Treatment

Liquid barrier, bait system and spot treatments for subterranean termites, plus what a Georgia termite contract (bond) must spell out before you sign.

Termite Inspection & Termite Letters

Termite inspections for peace of mind or a sale, and the Official Georgia Wood Infestation Inspection Report (the termite letter) often requested at closing.

Rodent Control & Exclusion

Rats and mice in the attic, walls or kitchen: trapping plus sealing the entry points, from independent Atlanta-area companies.

Cockroach Control

Palmetto bugs drifting in from outside, or German cockroaches breeding in the kitchen: two different problems, two different treatments.

Bed Bug Treatment

Heat and chemical bed bug treatments from independent Atlanta-area companies, with CDC and EPA safety facts and published national costs.

Mosquito Control

Seasonal mosquito yard programs and one-time event treatments in metro Atlanta, licensed under Georgia's mosquito applicator category, not structural pest control.

Wasp, Hornet & Yellowjacket Removal

Yellowjacket nests in the ground or walls, wasp nests under eaves, and hornet nests in trees, with the safety steps to take before a company arrives.

Commercial Pest Control

Documented, scheduled pest control for Atlanta restaurants, apartment communities, offices, warehouses and other businesses.

Free calculators and planning tools

4 tools, including the Termite or Flying Ant? Swarmer Identification Check. They turn your details into a price range or a next step before you talk to anyone.

Cost guides

6 guides with national price ranges, line-item breakdowns, and what moves the price. Each lists its sources and review date so you can check a quote against it.

What makes Atlanta Pest Guide different

Only pest control, not hundreds of categories

Angi, HomeAdvisor, Thumbtack, and Yelp list hundreds of service categories. Atlanta Pest Guide covers only pest control, across 9 services, and every page, calculator, and guide on the site is written for it.

4 free tools, no sign-up

Atlanta Pest Guide publishes 4 free calculators and planning tools. Results show on screen without an email address or account, and sending a request afterward is optional.

Sources and review dates on the numbers

Every cost guide and tool on Atlanta Pest Guide lists its sources (9 outside publishers in all) and the month its data was last reviewed. We re-check the figures at least once a year.

Local pages for 11 cities

Each city page covers local price drivers, local pest conditions, common jobs, and permit notes where they apply. Requests go to independent local providers, not to a national call center.

Service-specific Georgia licensing

Each service names the Georgia license category that applies: Household Pest Control, Wood-Destroying Organism, mosquito applicator Category 41, or the separate honey bee removal license. Each also shows how to look the company up with the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Termite letter and bond rules from the source

Termite letter (WIIR) and termite contract explainers are drawn from the Georgia Structural Pest Control Commission rules and Georgia Department of Agriculture fact sheets, not from pest company marketing.

No diagnosis from a photo

Termite tools compare visible traits and point to an inspection when the evidence warrants one. They never confirm or rule out an infestation.

How Atlanta Pest Guide works

  1. Step 1

    Describe the problem

Which pest, where you're seeing it, your city or ZIP, and how urgent it is.

  2. Step 2

    Check costs and the license

Use the cost guides and tools, and note which Georgia license the job needs.

  3. Step 3

    We route your request

It goes to an independent local pest control company that serves your area.

  4. Step 4

    Compare the written scope

Look the company up, then get the treatment plan, follow-up visits and contract terms in writing before work starts.

How to reach us

Every page has a short request form. Questions, corrections, and privacy requests go to partners@corneliacove.com.

Response times

Emergency requests are flagged and routed ahead of routine work. We don't publish guaranteed response or arrival times, testimonials, or star ratings we can't verify.

Who you'll work with

One or more independent local providers serving your area. They contact you directly, quote their own price, and do the work under their own license, insurance, and warranty.

How the service is paid for

Using the site and sending a request is free. We may be compensated by the providers who receive requests. They set their own prices, and we don't mark up their work.

Where our numbers come from

Price ranges come from published industry data, cost surveys, and government, university, and nonprofit sources. Every figure is a starting range for planning, not a quote: local conditions, access, and the provider's pricing decide the final number.

Frequently asked questions

Does Atlanta Pest Guide do the work itself?

No. Atlanta Pest Guide is a referral service: we don't own equipment, employ technicians, or perform the work. Independent local providers quote and do every job under their own license, insurance, and terms.

Does it cost anything to use Atlanta Pest Guide?

No. The calculators and the request form are free, with no account and no obligation to hire anyone. We may be paid by the providers who receive requests; they set their own prices, and we don't mark them up.

Who will contact me after I send a request?

One or more independent local providers who serve your area. They contact you directly by phone, text, or email to confirm the details and quote the job. Get the quote in writing and confirm any license your state requires before work starts.

How quickly will someone respond?

Requests marked as emergencies are routed first, but we don't promise response or arrival times we can't verify; that depends on the provider's schedule. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 911 first.

Where do your cost numbers come from?

From published industry cost data, cost surveys, and government, university, and nonprofit sources. Each cost guide and calculator lists its sources and the month it was last reviewed, and we re-check them at least once a year. Every figure is a planning range, not a quote.

Does Atlanta Pest Guide sell my information?

No. We share your request only with the providers who may do the work, which is the purpose of the service, and we don't sell it for unrelated marketing. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing partners@corneliacove.com.

How do I report a number that looks wrong?

Email partners@corneliacove.com with the page and the figure. We review every correction request and update the page if the number is wrong or out of date.

Can local providers receive requests from Atlanta Pest Guide?

Yes. Local pest control providers can email us to start receiving requests from their service area. How partnering works

What is a termite letter in Georgia?

It's the Official Georgia Wood Infestation Inspection Report (WIIR), the official document certifying that a structure is apparently free of wood-destroying organisms, as a basis for transferring property. Only a WDO-certified company can issue one. If an infestation is found within 90 days of issue, the issuing company must treat it free. It's often requested at closing, but it isn't a structural report or a warranty that termites are absent.

How do I check if a pest control company is licensed in Georgia?

Search the company's legal name on the Georgia Department of Agriculture's structural pest control license search (agr.georgia.gov/structural-pest-control-search), then make sure its operator holds the right category: Household Pest Control for general pests, rodents, bed bugs and wasps, or Wood-Destroying Organism for termites and termite letters. Technicians must carry a state ID card and show it on request. Mosquito spraying is licensed separately, under pesticide applicator Category 41.

Is a termite bond worth it?

It depends on what the contract covers and what renewal costs. Georgia requires the written contract to say, in a boxed statement, whether it covers retreatment only or retreatment and repair, and to list the renewal fee and how often the home is reinspected. A retreatment-only bond won't pay for damage. If you're buying a home, ask whether the existing contract transfers and for what fee. Our termite bond checker walks through these questions.

Is Atlanta Pest Guide a pest control company?

No. Atlanta Pest Guide is an independent guide and referral service published by Cornelia Cove LLC. We don't inspect, treat or issue termite letters. Requests go to independent local pest control companies, which handle pricing, scheduling and the work directly with you.

When do termites swarm in Atlanta?

UGA Extension says Georgia termite swarms start in February and peak from March through May. One native species swarms from late July to early October, and Formosan termites, which are rare in Georgia, swarm at night from late May to June. If you see swarmers indoors, save a few in a sealed bag or jar and don't spray or vacuum them before an inspection.

How do I file a complaint against a pest control company in Georgia?

Use the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Structural Pest Control Inspection Request form, or call 404-656-3641. An inspector may visit and collect your contracts and service tickets, so keep them. Outcomes range from a warning to corrective action, a fine or action against the license, and the process can take weeks to months.

Does using Atlanta Pest Guide cost anything?

No. Sending a request is free and carries no obligation. The company that contacts you quotes its own work, so get the scope, follow-up visits and any contract terms in writing before you agree.
